Blog Tour - The Devil's Tattoo by Nicole R. Taylor

The Devil's TattooThe Highway to Hell or the Stairway to Heaven?

Zoe Granger picked up her first guitar the day her heart was smashed into a billion pieces. It was a way to keep her mind off her inevitable downward spiral, but music soon became her escape. She's been burned too many times to tell and is just happy to coast through life, never putting herself out there. That's until her best friend Dee suggests they start a band and suddenly she finds herself not just a part of it, but fronting the whole outfit.

They call themselves The Devil's Tattoo and when they release their debut EP, it rockets to the top of the charts and it's like an overnight fairytale. Contracts, photo shoots, royalties and interviews are heaped onto the shy Zoe and it's like she's finally found her place. Then comes the phone call that changes everything. They've been asked to co-headline a tour with one of the hottest bands of the moment, The Stabs and Zoe will never be the same again.

Will Strickland is one fourth of the hottest indie rock band to ever grace the airwaves. He's the bass player in The Stabs, hot as hell and could have his pick of any girl that flings herself at him. But he's only got eyes for Zoe and she has no idea why he'd bother. She's got one hell of a trust issue and an attitude to boot and Will seems to be the one who wants to tame her, but is he game enough?

The Devil's Tattoo and The Stabs go on the road and it's either going to be a highway to hell or a stairway to heaven. Only time will tell who will come out on top and Zoe's determined to do it without getting her heart broken… again.

BLOGOVERASRY!!!

Yaay! Today My blog turns one!!! Congratulations to me! I couldn't really do much today. But I promise to have a giveaway soon enough. I posted a review of one of my favorite books Sweet Peril so check it out.

Review - Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins

Sweet Peril (The Sweet Trilogy, #2)Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

With nothing to mend but her broken heart, she is relentlessly pursued by her boss Derek Lake. Just when Annie is about to give him a chance, her ex-husband unexpectedly comes out of hiding.

A wanted man, Nick Logan is a cold-hearted murderer who is considered enemy number one, and orders are clear: kill on contact. He is more powerful than ever and threatens the lives of those she holds most dear. His plan? Get his hands on Annie and use her Kinetic energy to destroy them all. When Annie finds herself with an opportunity to end him, she pauses, horrified by the scars covering the face she once loved. A split second that will cost her everything…

Hover (The Taking, #2)On Earth, seventeen-year-old Ari Alexander was taught to never peek, but if she hopes to survive life on her new planet, Loge, her eyes must never shut. Because Zeus will do anything to save the Ancients from their dying planet, and he has a plan.

Thousands of humans crossed over to Loge after a poisonous neurotoxin released into Earth's atmosphere, nearly killing them. They sought refuge in hopes of finding a new life, but what they became were slaves, built to wage war against their home planet. That is, unless Ari and Jackson can stop them. But on Loge, nothing is as it seems...and no one can be trusted.

ARC Review - A Tale of Two Centuries by Rachel Harris

A Tale of Two Centuries (My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century, #2)

One mystical spell later, Alessandra appears on Cat’s Beverly Hills doorstep five hundred years in the future. Surrounded by confusing gadgets, scary transportation, and scandalous clothing, Less is hesitant to live the life of a twenty-first century teen…until she meets the infuriating—and infuriatingly handsome—surfer Austin Michaels. Austin challenges everything she believes in…and introduces her to a world filled with possibility.

With the clock ticking, Less knows she must live every moment of her modern life while she still can. But how will she return to the drab life of her past when the future is what holds everything she’s come to love?

Blog Tour - ARC Review - Prep School Confidential by Kara Taylor

Expected Publication : July 30th, 2013
Prep School Confidential
In this breathtaking debut that reads like Gossip Girl crossed with Twin Peaks, a Queen Bee at a blue-blooded New England prep school stumbles into a murder mystery.

Anne Dowling practically runs her exclusive academy on New York’s Upper East Side—that is, until she accidentally burns part of it down and gets sent to a prestigious boarding school outside of Boston. Determined to make it back to New York, Anne couldn't care less about making friends at the preppy Wheatley School. That is, until her roommate Isabella’s body is found in the woods behind the school.

When everyone else is oddly silent, Anne becomes determined to uncover the truth no matter how many rules she has to break to do it. With the help of Isabella’s twin brother Anthony, and a cute classmate named Brent, Anne discovers that Isabella wasn’t quite the innocent nerdy girl she pretended to be. But someone will do anything to stop Anne’s snooping in this fast-paced, unputdownable read—even if it means framing her for Isabella’s murder.

Blog Tour - Review and Excerpt of Shutdown by Heather Anastasiu

Shutdown (Glitch, #3)The battle is all but over, and hope seems to be lost.  Zoe and her fellow Resistance fighters are on the run, having lost their home, their protection, and their leader. They are outnumbered and outmatched by the powerful corporation that controls the world, and the cruel Chancellor is inches away from completing a scheme that would kill most of humanity. Zoe's only remaining option is to chase the impossible dream of upending the Link system, freeing the world from the hardware that controls their thoughts and emotions, and hope it will trigger a revolution.

The plot requires a nearly impossible mission to infiltrate the dangerous Community, and it is a task that Zoe must unfortunately complete alone. With challenges and surprises at every turn, nothing goes according to plan. Adrien's visions of the future now show two possible outcomes: one in which they succeed, and one in which humanity falls. It all lies in Zoe's hands.

Full of romance, high-adrenaline action and shocking twists, Shutdown is a heart-pounding conclusion to an exciting sci-fi adventure trilogy for young adults. The thrilling conclusion to an action-packed sci-fi trilogy.

Wating on Wednesday #20

Waiting on Wednesdays is a weekly book meme that lets anxious readers like all of us know what to be jumping up and down for. It is hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine.

Name: Frigid
Author: J. Lynn
Publication date: July 30th, 2013

Frigid
For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.

Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.

But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.

I just wish the sciency side and the creative side have a proper fight where one will be the clear winner. But no! That never happens!!!
  6.  I am 16 years old and scared of being home alone. It's okay you don't have tell me it's weird I know.

  10. I have never seen the Notebook. But I had a major obsession with Ryan Gosling for a while after I watched Crazy, Stupid, Love.
  11. And last but not least, I wish I didn't have to choose a career and instead just sit at home and read all day! I hate making choices!!!

What brought you to the wonderful world of blogging?

I read Obsidian by Jennifer Armentrout and Katy was such an awesome character to connect with and I loved how she blogged about her one passion. After I read Onyx I decided that I wanted to start a blog so that I can share my views with people who are just like me.

What do you enjoy most about blogging?

"Words are the most powerful tool. They can heal. They can destroy." "Words are powerful, and so is a lack of words." The above quotes are taken from two of my all time favorite authors ever (Jennifer Armentrout and Wendy Higgins)!!! People who don't read miss out a lot in life. I believe that every book has a message to deliver, all books be it comics, love stories or the classics. I love that I can influence a person's life just by reviewing a single book or putting up a few teasers from a book. I love that a few simple words can change a person's life and that's why I love blogging.

What do you remember about the first movie you ever saw?

The first movie that I remember seeing is A Bug's life and I remember being terrified. I was lounging on the floor on a few blankets and I remember being so scared that I literally cowered under them. God now I feel so stupid but guess my 3 or 4 year old self was really scared.

If you could have any super power what would it be and why?

I love Iron man like seriously love him. I have the movies like more than 70 times. So if I could have his any super power I would love to have his suit.

What is your favorite animated character?

My favorite animated character is Lighting McQueen from the movie Cars. I really love that movie I watch it all the time with my little cousin. I also love watching cartoons but I'm tied between Ben 10 and Generator Rex.

What is your favorite all time classic movie?

I don't think I've watched many classic movies, so I'm going to go with Cinderella. It's a timeless story that every girl, actually anyone can relate to .

If you had a time machine where and when would you go and why?

Well, I've always loved the Greek time. The time where the Gods roamed the Earth and built huge temples and all that. I really love that era, so I might go there if I ever get my hands on a time machine.

What are your interests or hobbies other than reading?

I play the piano and I have done so for a long time, and most of the time I really like playing it. I also watch TV a lot. So between those two all I do is read.

What is your dream vacation?

Okay I'm a little torn up about this question. On one hand I would love to go to a place which is calming and soothing, some sort of resort of some kind where I don't have to think about anything but being lulled to sleep by the therapeutic waters. On the other hand I would love to go to Greece to see all the ruins and study the pictures depicting the Gods and their rule and all the myths surrounding them.

How would you change the world if you could in one way?

I truly believe in the ripple effect. So if I want to change the world, I guess I have to be the best person I can ever be and that in turn hopefully will cause a chain effect. So right now I'm going to focus on me and give it my all in anything I do.

What is your favorite quote from a book or person?

"Words are the most powerful tool. They can heal. They can destroy."
                                                                              ~ Jennifer Armentrout

"Words are powerful, and so is a lack of words."
                                                                     ~ Wendy Higgins

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, WOO HOO! What a Ride!"
                                                                          ~ Anonymous

This book was the perfect and I mean perfect sequel. Don't forget to check out my review when I post it!

"And..." I glanced down at her low-cut V-necked sweater with the perfect amount of cleavage on display. "I envy your boobs."
Marna snorted. Kope swiftly turned and walked away with a shake of his head. Ginger held my eyes as she crossed her chest, fluffing her boobs upward even higher.
"They are rather nice," she admitted. Marna bent over at the waist and laughed now.

It was a really funny scene which definitely helped ease the tension between those two. Hope you guys read this book because it is .... AWESOME!!!!

He pushed forward until I was against the stacked washer and dryer, and his knee slipped between my legs.

I hate the wait, so, so, so much!!!
So I found these teasers a few bloggers put up for their swoon Thursday post and I hope that it's a soothing balm for those International people like me who haven't yet gotten their copy. Although the above teasers offer no therapeutic relief at all, in fact they make the wait HARDER!!!! Ugh! This sucks!!!

Feature and Friday # 13

Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

This is an awesome meme that allows us to get more followers and make new friends. It is hosted Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read.
Today's question of the day is ....

Q: Is there a song that reminds you of a book? Or vice versa? What is the song & the book?

Volcano and Drive Me by Phillip Phillips remind me a lot of Sweet Evil. They both remind me of the tension between Anna and Kai and the things that stand between them getting together.

P.S. Sorry I've been so absent lately, I was really busy this whole week. But from now on I will definitely update more.

Review - Of Poseidon by Anna Banks

Of Poseidon (Of Poseidon, #1)

Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen — literally, ouch! — both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom . . .

Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.
