MY FAVORITE BOOKS OF 2012...

This year was a huge year for me because I got introduced into the world of book blogging and well yeah I got introduced to so many books I just love.
These are my favorite in no particular order.

Insurgent by Veronica Roth
Insurgent (Divergent, #2)
It was awesome and as far as dystopian books go this is my favorite series!!!

Wallbanger by Alice Clayton
Wallbanger
I loved this book and I mean loved it I love it more than Losing it. This book is just too funny for words not to mention insanely sexy with the hottest guy ever!!!

Immortal City by Scott Speer
Immortal City (Immortal City, #1)
Why this book?! Honestly because it was different. It was so much more creatively imagined in terms of the small details I simply loved this book. They say that directors pay attention to detail and Scott Speer did just that! So Yaay for him!

Pure and Deity by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Pure (Covenant, #2)Deity (Covenant, #3)
I was newly introduced to Jennifer Armentrout this year and I fell in love with the Covenant series and the daimon butt-kicking Alex and the calm but sexy as hell Aiden and the cocky and snarky Seth.

 Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins
Sweet Evil (The Sweet Trilogy, #1)
Oh Wendy Higgins you did it! You managed to create a book I loved so much it presides up there with my beloved Lux series!!! I loved Sweet Evil and I really thought I wouldn't love an angel book so much after the Hush Hush series. But Wendy proved us all wrong ;)

 Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick
Finale (Hush, Hush, #4)
Oh this book was the perfect end to the series. I cried tears of joy, sorrow and pain throughout this book and it was so perfect in the end that I cried again. I love Patch and Nora and they truly deserved their happy ending.

 Losing it by Cora Carmack
Losing It
This book was a roller coaster of laughing and I laughed so hard that it made my stomach hurt at times. Cora Carmack is an amazing writer.

Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry
Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1)
I had this book with me for the longest time ever. Then one day I decided to read it and I was instantly hooked. The urge to know what happened to Echo will make you stay up till the wee hours of the morning to read this book. I can't wait for Beth's story and I'm so glad I read this book.

...
...
...

And for the marshmallow on my cupcake *pauses* actually it's marshmallows...
Onyx and Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Onyx (Lux, #2)Opal (Lux, #3)
I love love love the Lux series they are my absolute favorite of all time ever , they are my favorite books in the whole wide world ... oh wait... I mean the universe.... I mean all the bzillion and thirteen galaxies that there are ....
Although Opal is my new favorite Onyx stands right there with Opal so both of them are the toppers on my New Years Cake!!!

HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS!!!!!

I stared at the screen open mouthed and a few seconds later I started bouncing up and down in my bed going Ahhh! Ahhh! silently!!!( I had to scream silently because it was 8 in the morning and my sister was asleep in the next bed and normally we don't really wake up before 11 or 12) (what can I say it's the holiday and I love to sleep ;) ) I was just going through Wendy Higgins's tweets and I saw this and then this and then I saw some more of this  I was like OMO OMG OMO OMG .....* opening
my mouth as wide as it could go and silent screaming up in to plain white walls of my bedroom*
*all the while jumping super silently as well*
Holy crap!!! Hush Hush one of my all time favorite books of FOREVER!!! is going to be made into a movie!!!! WHOA This is super huge it is bigger than the whopper burgers my friends and I stuffed in our mouths today!!!

And even better news the guy who I practically envision as Kaidan is auditioning!!!
But I really think of him as Kaidan and Patch in my head is so .... Unreal its going to be so hard to think of whoever plays him as Patch.

That said ... Ladies and a few gentlemen who read my blog I present to you Wade Poezyn the guy who gives me Kaidan dreams .....*sigh at his amazing hotness*

Although he is not the cover model he does  look a little like him doesn't he?!
So what do you think guys does he seem fit*giggles on the pun* to play Patch Cipriano.
I really like him as Kaidan and he is pretty fixed in my head so I don't know how I can transfer the image in my brain but I'll try for Kai and FOR PATCH!!! OH PATCH!!!

Feature and Follow Friday #4

Gain New Blog Followers
This is an awesome meme that allows us to get more followers and make new friends. It is hosted Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read.
Today's question of the day is ....

Q: What book do you think everyone should read? If you could gift the entire population with one book?

I honestly think it should be the Lux and Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Both are so different, yet they still encompass the strong heroines who aren't willing to let the guy fight for them when they can do it perfectly themselves.

I love Katy and Alex, they both so different yet similar at heart or soul or whatever.

Daemon... Oh Daemon, I could go on forever.
Even Seth and Aiden I love them both I really do even when I'm on Team Aiden.

So these are series TO READ!!!

The Lux Series

The Covenant Series

I know you guys think I'm a serious Jennifer fangirl and I think I am but I really can't help I her books are so good, like mmmm... so good I can't stop -good ;)

Review- Wallbanger by Alice Clayton

Wallbanger
Caroline Reynolds has a fantastic new apartment in San Francisco, a KitchenAid mixer, and no O (and we’re not talking Oprah here, folks). She has a flourishing design career, an office overlooking the bay, a killer zucchini bread recipe, and no O. She has Clive (the best cat ever), great friends, a great rack, and no O.
Adding insult to O-less, since her move, she has an oversexed neighbor with the loudest late-night wallbanging she’s ever heard. Each moan, spank, and–was that a meow?–punctuates the fact that not only is she losing sleep, she still has, yep, you guessed it, no O.
Enter Simon Parker. (No, really, Simon, please enter.) When the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. Their late-night hallway encounter has, well, mixed results. Ahem. With walls this thin, the tension’s gonna be thick…
In her third novel, Alice Clayton returns to dish her trademark mix of silly and steamy. Banter, barbs, and strutting pussycats, plus the sexiest apple pie ever made, are dunked in a hot tub and set against the gorgeous San Francisco skyline in this hot and hilarious tale of exasperation at first sight.

My favorite author of all time Jennifer L. Armentrout wanted to read this book. And mostly all the books she recommends are pretty awesome. Plus this book was in the best books of 2012 list in Amazon. Amazon!!! So I was all yaay! awesome cover... So I hve to read it.
So I went to google and typed wallbanger, I however forgot the author and there were two wallbanger books. I naturally went to the first one and it was Sable something and Whoa!!! It, meaning the blurb, was scary, it totally Fifty Shades style and I was like Why on Earth would Jennifer recommend this. And then even the cover was different. So I just went to the second wallbanger book and I loved the blurb. God it was one amazing blurb and let me tell you every letter and punctuation mark is sooo true. Like dead on true!

The book starts off with a thump and a moan. Poor Carolyn was trying to sleep in her new apartment when her picture frames fall on her from on top of her bed. Yup, you guessed it right ;), it was her neighbours doing. Haha, now you wanna read the book don't you. And the thumping goes on for a few days, however the moaning does not, instead there are some rather... unusual... is so not the word, more like freaking hilarious noises. I love love loved the book. One day Carolyn totally fed up with her annoying neighbour, goes to confront him in the middle of him doing the big DEED and she is clad in a baby pink nightie that plays a big role in the book mind you, and starts banging on Simon's door and enter Simon with a sheet wrapped so low on his body with a .... ( I can't say it I get sqeamish) and instant attraction for Carolyn anyway. And let's just say that the walls are two way and so Simon can hear Carolyn's late night dreams *cough cough*

And then throw in Simon and Carolyn's friends and we get a hot- hot tub and and yummy baked goodness that combines to give us the best book ever. Carolyn's friends are pretty funny and I mean LOL funny. There is a visitor from the past and is truly annoying bu in the end someone shows the visitor who's boss. And the real fun begins, actually the real fun began way before.

I can't wait for all you to to meet the three women in Simon's harem as Carolyn puts it, they are truly giggle worthy ( for those of you who have read this book, you will totally know what that means ;) )

The ending was pretty cute and honestly it wasn't like most Adult books, there was no big fight and reunite at the end, there was a fight but that was half way through the book, I think. I really enjoyed the texts between Simon and Carolyn and it was so much fun, they were witty, cute, smexy and all around awesome.
P.S. I never thought kitchen sex would be hot :)
P.P.S. I hope you guys like this book because it is definitely going in my top 12 or whatever.

Waiting on Wednesday #9

Waiting on Wednesdays is a weekly book meme that lets anxious readers like all of us know what to be jumping up and down for. It is hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine.

Name: Pantomime
Author: Laura Lam
Publication date: February 5th, 2013
Pantomime
R. H. Ragona’s Circus of Magic is the greatest circus of Ellada. Nestled among the glowing blue Penglass—remnants of a mysterious civilisation long gone—are wonders beyond the wildest imagination. It’s a place where anything seems possible, where if you close your eyes you can believe that the magic and knowledge of the vanished Chimaera is still there. It’s a place where anyone can hide.
Iphigenia Laurus, or Gene, the daughter of a noble family, is uncomfortable in corsets and crinoline, and prefers climbing trees to debutante balls. Micah Grey, a runaway living on the streets, joins the circus as an aerialist’s apprentice and soon becomes the circus’s rising star.
But Gene and Micah have balancing acts of their own to perform, and a secret in their blood that could unlock the mysteries of Ellada.

I'm a not a big fan of circuses because well... how do I put it, I'm not so fond of clowns and the like. But I do love acrobats and magicians, So when I came upon this title at Goodreads, I was ... intrigued.
It sounds like it would be really different, and I mean that in a good way.

Review- Pure by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Pure (Covenant, #2)
There is need. And then there is Fate
Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her.
When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude or killing her.
When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

The story starts off with a bang, more like a few kicks and punches and then it pretty much picks off from where it left off. Alex has to deal with the after math of the daimon attacks and she deals with 'vanity' as an instructor puts it. Poor Alex, I felt so bad for her when the stupid instructor - I so totally have a feeling that he is a bad guy, makes fun of her tags in front of everyone. I mean give the girl a break she was so close to being turned and do any of those losers have any idea how much pain she must have been in... Okay okay enough of my ranting. Something I thought Jennifer would never do... she did. And I was just like WTF and I hardly ever swear, I'm such an angel, but Holy Mountain Mama ( Katy totally said that in a book , I forget which one) it was horrible. It was sad and devastating and I can go awn and awn but the truth is no amount of words can ever express the shock of what just happened in the book.

And let's not forget Aiden, I was heart-broken, my heart actually broke in to tiny granules so tiny and disfigured that I thought it could never ever be fixed or least glued back together and I'm pretty sure Alex felt a gazillion times worse. But even when I thought Aiden was too cold, he did a few small things just a few that totally confuses both us and Alex, and being the smart mouth that she is she totally confronts him and ...

Seth ... Oh Seth... I totally love him and although I'm cemented on Team Aiden forever and I mean forevaaaahh, I was totally smitten with Seth. I was bowled over by his charm and wit and what not.
He honestly made Alex happy and the bedroom scenes although totally PG rated, oozed some heat you just couldn't ignore. I loved how protective he was, and he genuinely seemed to care about Alex. And he himself admitted that she might be the first person he cared about since himself, obviously.

God there is this one guy I absolutely hate and I mean I wanna rip his head off with my own teeth kind of hate. That guy is none other than Minister Telly. What a jerk! I hate that bug!!!

The end was well.. it was Jennifer and we all know how she ends her books and let's just say that I can't wait for my Deity copy to arrive. I was actually this close to strangling the woman at Borders. Ugh! Stupid shipping, it takes forever!!! I actually kind of loved the end although taunting and annoying, it was ... nice. Just nice. I loved it and I honestly don't really have any words to explain the end so I'm just going to go with nice.

Hope you guys read Pure and if you did tell me how much you loved it. :D

My frown increased, "We don't snuggle."
He dropped his arm over my shoulder, and the scent of mint and something wild tickled my nose. "How about we cuddle?"
"We don't do that either."

I punched him on the side.

Today's question of the day is ....

Q: What is the last book that made you cry? Tell us about the scene...

The last book I was reading was Pure by Jennifer Armentrout, and lets just say that I let a few tears loose in the car scene after the zoo.
And then I was full on bawling, when Caleb died!!!
I know, I know that was spoilery but I couldn't help it. It was so so sad. I literally had to close the book and then a deep breath but then tears just kept coming.

God... I think all JLA books make me cry. I totally lost it in Opal at the end I just closed the book because it was late and I was just lying on my bed when the dam burst and I was crying. I hated the end yet I loved the book. Jennifer... you kill me !!!

Marley and Me is a book that can make me cry even when I am happier than Santa, even the movie, is so touching.

Waiting on Wednesday #8

Waiting on Wednesdays is a weekly book meme that lets anxious readers like all of us know what to be jumping up and down for. It is hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine.

Name: Pulse
Author: Patrick Carman
Publication date: February 26th, 2013
Pulse (Pulse, #1)
From New York Times bestselling author Patrick Carman, a teen fantasy-adventure of epic proportions. In 2051, some teens have a “pulse,” the power to move objects with their minds. Compulsively readable, with thrilling action scenes and a tender love story.
The year is 2051, and the world is still recognizable. With the help of her mysterious classmate Dylan Gilmore, Faith Daniels discovers that she can move objects with her mind. This telekinetic ability is called a “pulse,” and Dylan has the talent, too.
In riveting action scenes, Faith demonstrates her ability to use her pulse against a group of telekinesis masters so powerful they will flatten their enemies by uprooting street lights, moving boulders, and changing the course of a hurtling hammer so that it becomes a deadly weapon. But even with great talent, the mind—and the heart—can be difficult to control. If Faith wants to join forces with Dylan and save the world, she’ll have to harness the power of both.
Patrick Carman’s Pulse trilogy is a stunning, action-filled triumph about the power of the mind—and the power of love.

Oooh, I can't wait for this one. I love all things sci-fi and telekinetic!!! It seems like it would be so worth the read. Just look at the cover, I think I'm drooling over the ability to lift trees and other stuff with your mind.... WOW!!!

This is an awesome meme that allows us to get more followers and make new friends.  It is hosted Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read.
Today's question of the day is ....

Q: Activity! Who do you want to be? If you could choose any character from a book. What do you think that character looks like and what do you have in common?

As I am currently, actually I was always obsessed but ever since Opal upcoming release, I've been in major fangirl mode. So I would love to be Katy from the Lux series.
And before you all start swooning over Daemon, he's not the only reason. Well... he is a big reason, but Katy is strong and brave, things I want to be. She is also stubborn, something I don't want to be but like her can't help it. She loves books and I mean she love loves them. And the main reason I even came into blogging was because of her. So Yaaay!, let's thank Katy and Jennifer for that !!!

Well Katy has big, huge grey eyes and light brown hair. She is pretty short and kind of curvy. She hates that she is though.

I love books too, I mean come on, it would be weird to have a book blog if I didn't. She loves Daemon and I love him too :D The one thing she loves that I hate is gardening, I hate mud and all that plant stuff. But on the bright side I'm an indoor person like her as well ...

The model on the cover, Stzella is exactly how Katy looks in my head even Jennifer said that the moment she saw Pepe and Stzella, it was like seeing the images in her head in front of her.

Waiting on Wednesday #7

Waiting on Wednesdays is a weekly book meme that lets anxious readers like all of us know what to be jumping up and down for. It is hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine.

Name: Etiquette and Espionage (Finishing School #1)
Author: Gail Carriger
Publication date: February 5th, 2013
Etiquette & Espionage (Finishing School, #1)
It's one thing to learn to curtsy properly. It's quite another to learn to curtsy and throw a knife at the same time. Welcome to finishing school.
Fourteen-year-old Sophronia is the bane of her mother's existence. Sophronia is more interested in dismantling clocks and climbing trees than proper etiquette at tea--and god forbid anyone see her atrocious curtsy. Mrs. Temminnick is desperate for her daughter to become a proper lady. She enrolls Sophronia in Mademoiselle Geraldine's Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality.
But little do Sophronia or her mother know that this is a school where ingenious young girls learn to finish, all right--but it's a different kind of finishing. Mademoiselle Geraldine's certainly trains young ladies in the finer arts of dance, dress, and etiquette, but also in the other kinds of finishing: the fine arts of death, diversion, deceit, espionage, and the modern weaponries. Sophronia and her friends are going to have a rousing first year at school.
First in a four book YA series set 25 years before the Parasol Protectorate but in the same universe.

I love books with an historical setting but I have read one in a long time so when I came across this eye catching cover I was all but jumping with joy, it seems to have an amazing plot I love stubborn 18th century heroines with old -fashioned mothers. It seems to bring out my rebellious side. I'm going to go and see if I can get hold of an ARC.

And the best one by far.... *drum roll, please*

Review - Insurgent by Veronica Roth

Insurgent (Divergent, #2)
One choice can transform you--or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves--and herself--while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.
Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable--and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.
"New York Times" bestselling author Veronica Roth's much-anticipated second book of the dystopian "Divergent" series is another intoxicating thrill ride of a story, rich with hallmark twists, heartbreaks, romance, and powerful insights about human nature.

As soon as I finished Divergent, I had this insistent need to go and buy Insurgent, so I did, but I didn't start reading until a few days ago, I was stuck between a few a books. So Insurgent picks up right where Divergent left off, and I don't mean a few days later or something, I mean a few minutes later.

This book starts off amazingly, its as gripping and action packed as Divergent, the group of people who were with Tris and Four, take refuge in Amity's headquarters and they are a bunch off peace loving and tree hugging people. We find out the reason, well not the whole reason, just that there is a reason for the attack ( I don't want to give away too much).

The Erudite, attack them again and they have to leave Amity and they seek refuge else where. Four reconciles with someone... it's not who you think it is, much to Tris's disagreement. Tris and Tobias, fight well argue a lot in this books and honestly I couldn't help but agree with Tris on most of them.
When I was nearing the first quarter, it was really interesting, however I had to go to the doctor and in the waiting room, I was insanely bored so... I started to read Pushing the Limits, from my phone and well I really got into that as well, so I had to continue Insurgent after Pushing the Limits, and well ever since then I think the book started. Sure it got interesting again, but I really think I loved Divergent more than this book, but I still thought it was amazing.

Tris as a person really evolved and her Divergence, especially her Erudite side was really brought out in this book and she became stronger, and although we see Tris and Four's relationship evolve, they seem to have a lot of problems of their own, and are unable to communicate clearly. There was a lot of death and blood shed and people we grew to love were killed off. There was one incident, well it a was a betrayal I did not see coming at all. I was just like OMO, WTH, just happened?!!!

The ending, pretty much reignited my love for the book and made me want book three really badly, because, the ending is not clear I don't really know who that is so ... I want book three really badly!!!
The Divergent series, is by far, my favorite dystopian novels ever and I mean EVER!!!

Rating:
I gave Divergent 5 stars, I'm giving Insurgent 4 and a half.
